My first time going to the Japanese Gardens at school was a class day I didn’t regret. I had low expectations at first, since many have told me that it was a pretty small garden. But I wasn’t disappointed at all.
When it comes to art, other than painting or coloring, drawing is undoubtedly what I believe to be one of my weaknesses. As I took more of an interest in art after graduating high school, I learned that not everything has to be straight or perfect or completely literal or exact. I’ve embraced this newfound lesson when it comes to sketching and so far, I’ve been gaining more confidence in my abilities.
This activity was another thing I had to overcome since my confidence is still in progress (as it always is). But I enjoyed every minute of it. To be able to just sit down peacefully, take in my surroundings and challenge myself all at the same time was something I needed.
